2015

2014 has come and nearly gone
365 days into this year
And now there are only hours left until 2015,
How will you choose to spend it?

New years eve is always so bitter sweet it's like another year is over and acts as a reminder that your getting older and the school work is getting harder, yet it also serves as a chance for a new beginning and a better year.

New years resolutions don't really work for me as i'm not really sure what i would like to do 'better' and aren't one of those people who writes and comes up with a list every year but this year i have
two.

1. To be happier

This has to be one of the most cliche New Years resolutions ever but now i think about it i have worded it wrong i don't just want to be happier i want to be more positive. I'm not really an optomistic person and everytime i think of positivity it reminds me of camp last year when the instructor kept repeating 'positive vibes' over 1000 times and when he stopped this other girl started doing it and well... It wasn't a very positive experience. That's my problem with being positive i love to complain 😳 maybe i should add not complaining to the growing non-existing list on New years resolutions.

2. To stop worrying

When i'm not complaining i seem to be worrying about something no matter how little and insignificant it is, i seem to have at least 5 worrys a day and now i am already worrying about problems that could happen next year: what if none of my friends are in my classes? What if the work becomes so hard i have to spend all my free time studying? Ok they are some of the more common ones that i feel comfortable putting on my blog others are either too weird or too personal.

So that is my now existing new years resolution list. I hope you enjoy the rest of the last day of the year and especially tonight. I'm probably going to spend it in the surf with my cousins here on the Gold Coast and maybe we might go and watch the fireworks.

This is my last post for 2014, i can't wait to blog again next year. It might be a while though because i'm spending the first day of next year at Wet n wild. Hope to write for you again soon!

Christmas

Merry Belated Christmas! Yes i know it was days ago but the last couple of days have been so eventful that i haven't had a chance to blog and i only just realised that you can write blog posts on ipads.

So anyway Christmas really didn't feel like Christmas this year, i think it was because of the fact that pretty much every Christmas eve since i was about 5 we would go to my aunt's house for a Christmas eve street party where most of my family was and we would stay there overnight, but this year we went to my grandparent's house.

On Christmas morning i woke up at 4:50 but for some reason it was so dark it felt like it was on 1 am, everyone else in the house was asleep so i decided to watch youtube videos of kids opening there Christmas presents here is one of them.

Then around 8 o clock when everyone was awake i opened all my presents. I got some amazing stuff that i wanted including:

As i have previously mentioned i love minions! I think i might use this next year.

I also really love hello kitty, my dad picked the shirt on the left and my mum picked the shirt on the right.

This is probably my favourite present i am obsessed with these games and can't wait to play this!

I also got a mini air hockey table, some perfume and a handbag.
After we finished opening all our presents we prepared lunch. I have never seen so much food there was ham, turkey, chicken and pavlova and ice cream for dessert. We also had Bon bons and i ended up with about three of those metal puzzle things and a portable chess set.

I spent longer trying to put the pieces back together than i did taking them apart.

We then played the logo boardgame that my aunt got me for Christmas. My dad and my aunt were extremely competitive and my dad kept arguing that my aunt cheated when she won.

My parents and i then drove to the beach where i got to spend an 1 1/2 hours in the surf failing at bodysurfing by the time we returned it was time to get dinner ready. That night after my aunt had left i decided to watch a Christmas movie to keep me in the mood and ended up watching A Christmas tree miracle which is both the most depressing and inspiring Christmas movie I have ever watched. This post is already really long so i won't do a full review but have started writing one that i might post some other time that fully does it justice. In short it follows a year in the life of a family of which is rich until the father loses his job and after getting kicked out of their house end up moving in with a kind old tree farmer who gives his Christmas trees away for free to spread the Christmas spirit.

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and are having great holidays wherever in the world you are!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Can you believe there is less than 10 days till Christmas?

This is how I feel:

The evidence of Christmas is everywhere from music playing in the shops to the lights on the houses and also in my house.

I assembled and painted this house a couple of years ago.

This is my beside table I have used the smaller ornaments that I have to decorate my tiny tree.

This advent calendar is reusable and has a small wooden ornament behind each door :)

 and finally...

I couldn't find a santa hat so these glasses had to do!

On a different note the other day this blog reached a 1000 page views and my instagram account 200 followers! I know these are all small milestones but I appreciate all of my views and followers and never imagined getting even a 100 page views!

Filling empty space with words

Have you ever been walking with someone and instantly their is silence you think of something to say yet no words come out? How would you react?

When faced with this situation I freak out and start going off trying to fill the silence with words. It usually starts with " It's really cold today," or " I'm so tired," and then I think of anything I could possibly say because I find it necessary to have a conversation going all the time or else I seem boring or awkward to talk to.

Before this year I never used to question not saying anything I cannot remember if it happened or how frequently it happened but now I know it happens everyday and I always blame myself for not thinking up something to talk about or not having anything interesting to talk about.

But is it just me and it doesn't really matter at all?

The greatest test of friendship is to sit or walk for an hour with a friend and not say a word yet not tire from each others company.

This quote was written in my Religion classroom (until someone changed it to sit on a friend). This made me realise that perhaps I am overthinking in these situations, if they didn't want to walk with me to class surely they would just walk away. Perhaps silence is more meaningful than saying words with no meaning?

I couldn't come up with anything good to write about... so here is a video of cute puppies

As the title suggests I am lacking ideas, I have tried several ideas but none of them seemed to work so I decided to check instagram where I found this video.

Puppies in Disney costumes accompanied by epic music, what more could you ask for? Ok, maybe a proper blog post about something meaningful again I apologise once I come up with an idea I'll write one.

This video was made by Oh my Disney, Disney's blog which features news, quizzes, gifs, videos and lots of Disney related stuff that I was frequently on while I was supposed to be studying.

This video also reminds me of some of the videos done by The Pet Collective who use cats to recreate Disney and other movies and Tv shows while little kids tell the stories.
Here is their Tangled video.
So I hope you enjoyed this (pointless) post on Disney and cute animals.
Hope you have a nice day,
Tshi1

Inspiring songs

First of all I'm so sorry for not posting in two weeks i have just finished my final assessments for this year and have had so many commitments during the last week so haven't had the chance to post.
I have not posted in two weeks! This is just a short post that I had the idea for while listening to Unwritten ( my current favourite song) and realised how most of my favourite songs have inspiring lyrics.

5. Let it go
If you haven't heard of this song by now you must have been living under a rock for the last year( like my dad who heard it for the first time last week) and I know what your thinking Frozen is sooo old and annoying now but apart from having a tune that constantly keeps getting stuck in your head and constantly reminds you of building ice castles. It has a strong message about being true to yourself no matter what other people think and letting go of the past. I'm not obsessed with Frozen but somehow it just keeps making its way into my posts.

4. The climb

Another slightly Disney song which is from the forgotten days of Miley Cyrus when she was best known for playing a teen pop star leading a double live from the movie about being down to Earth and remembering where you come from. This song for some reason always reminds me of assessments and how sometimes I do really well in some subjects and others not so well but is about the broader theme of resilience using a mountain analogy (ok now it sounds like I'm analysing the songs) and that lifes a climb... but the view is great.

3. Roar

I was personally disappointed when Roar didn't win song of the year last year because again this is one of my favorite songs despite the fact that it reminds me of the plague (because my cousin did a parody for school).

There is so much meaning and techniques used in this song ( when I looked it up I found worksheets on analyzing its lyrics) but on a simple level it is simple, relatable and powerful, not to mention catchy.

2. Brave

Earlier this year I was obsessed with this song and would listen to it on repeat several times a day. Why? I think it was because at the moment I always seem to feel insecure when I'm with people about not saying what they want to hear when I listen to this song I feel like it is speaking directly to me.

1. Unwritten

This is my favourite song at the song at the moment I absolutely love it and I don't know why. I first heard it two years ago when they played it at my school for the year 12's final day. It takes a different perspective on how your future is unwritten and you are undefined even by the actions you have done in the past.

So that's my list! I will try to be posting as often as possible from now on especially since I finish school at the end of next week.

Minion movie trailer

First of all I'm soooo sorry for not posting in a long time I have been really busy with assignments and tests so have neglected my blog lately. On the bright side only 4 more weeks of school left for this year.

As I mentioned in my earlier post The top 5 cutest and funniest non-human sidekicks I love minions! So, I was more than excited to hear that the adorable creatures are getting there own spin-off movie in less than a year!

Here is the official trailer that was released a couple of days ago.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
The Minions, breakout stars from "Despicable Me," are presented in an origin story that showcases their unpredictable personality and physicality, and pairs them with equally memorable human characters. As it turns out, Minions have existed since the beginning of time. They have evolved from single (yellow) cell organisms into the familiar beings we know, and they live for a collective purpose: to seek out and serve the most despicable master they can find. Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock will lead the voice cast of the human characters as Scarlett Overkill, the world's reigning super-villain of the 1960s.

I normally don't get obsessed over upcoming movies but I really can't wait to see how this movie turns out. Part of me is worried about what will happen if it doesn't live up to expectation, but if it is done right this will strengthen the minion brand and fan-base. I'm interested to find out how much of the movie is made up of showing the minions with their various 'masters' in the trailer and their time spent in Antartica being 'depressed' which is completely ironic because the last thing anyone thinks of when they think of minions is depression.

From the trailer the main minions identified are Kevin, Stuart and Bob who are off on an adventure to find the biggest baddest villan to serve that leads them to New York in the year 1968 which the trailer points out is 42 years B.G which will ultimately take them to Scarlet Overkill ( Sandra Bullock) who unfortunately did not feature in the trailer and whose character design has yet to be released.

So in conclusion I'm really excited for this movie, unfortunately it doesn't get released until boxing day next year here in Australia however hopefully it will be worth the wait.

What's a movie that you just can't wait to be released? Feel free to comment below
